After her parents passed away in their 50's - her mother due to arthritis complications and her father due to a heart attack, she knew that she had to take control of her health to ensure that the same fate would not come her way. The focus was not on dieting but about health and discovering a lifestyle which maximized how our bodies were meant to function.
